We have so many items in storage that it’s a shame that they cannot be seen by the public due to limited space of Old Engine House No. 6. Our plan is to build a two-story structure directly behind the museum. This new building will be complementary to the architecture of Old Engine House No. 6 but will have all the amenities for everyone, such as an elevator for handicap access to the 2nd floor, an interactive area for kids, larger gift shop, restrooms, more room for visitor groups and meetings, and of course many more fire apparatus and firefighting items on display.
However, this is a very long and involved process of planning and getting the funding for this massive undertaking. This is where you come in! The future of our history relies on the generosity of our visitors and membership.
